Design two unique pieces of fine jewelry to commemorate the music career of Eric Clapton.
Almost every guitar player uses a plectrum when playing. So the solution was pretty easy.
The finished product is a stunning 18K gold guitar pick engraved with the Eric Clapton Stratocaster logo and his nickname “SLOWHAND.” The plectrum is outlined with 20 10pt diamonds and 1 25pt diamond.
Eric Clapton is known for playing a Fender Stratocaster, wearing Giorgio Armani suits, Rolex watches, Bally shoes, and driving a Ferrari. The man has style and class to say the least. His strat has been his instrument of choice, so it was necessary to fuse The Clapton name to the instrument and produce a fine piece of jewelry.
Looking at the guitar and from every angle and taking some creative license, I noticed that the body shape of the guitar had the right curves to produce a “E” and a “C” from there it a matter of manipulation of shapes to transform into letter and the basic drawing was made. Now it was time to take it into Adobe Illustrator and for a refined vector illustration. With the shape made it was all downhill from there.
The finished product is a gorgeous broche made from 18K gold. Six gold strings hold in place the “ric” of Eric. The combined “EC” of the body is outlined with 38 10pt diamonds.
